WHATSONTV.CO.UK GETS FESTIVE WITH CHRISTMAS MICROSITE

December 3, 2008

WOTV_XmasSite IPC TX website www.whatsontv.co.uk is launching a Christmas microsite to capitalise on the uplift in people searching for TV guidance and entertainment during the festive period.

The Christmas microsite includes TV listings, fun Christmas e-cards, and behind-the-scenes Christmas photo galleries for much-loved Christmas shows. Nearer to Christmas, there will be a vodcast revealing Christmas Day plotlines and a Christmas TV preview.

Visitors to the site will also find Christmas-themed games, plus they can win daily prizes that are concealed within the digital advent calendar and there are prizes for guessing the TV personalities disguised as Santa.

Mark Winterton, publisher of whatsontv.co.uk, says: “whatsontv.co.uk has grown significantly throughout 2008 and this Christmas microsite will undoubtedly boost traffic even further, attracting many new users who are searching for the best of festive TV. It's a great, entertaining, fully-comprehensive site for Christmas that will keep visitors coming back for more.”

Patrick McLennan, editor of whatsontv.co.uk, adds: “TV is as big a part of Christmas as the turkey and toe-curling cracker jokes. So we're celebrating the very best elements of the Christmas TV schedule with content that will enhance our users' enjoyment of the big shows.”

The Christmas microsite on whatsontv.co.uk will be promoted in IPC Media magazines and websites and with an email newsletter.
